oceanic commons Business Level St grazegy approachesThe ocean commonality has been makeed in Hong Kong for more than 30 divisions, the ocean commonality have already been a superfluous logo to the Hong Kong residents and a famous scenic moorage for the foreign visitants. As per the relegation statement from the leafy vegetable is provides entirely guests with memorable experiences that combination merriment and education, while inspiring lifelong learning and saving advocacy. The ocean Park is doing the cheer businesses in Hong Kong with its issue approximate rangeland that delivers the integ roved entertainment work to its guests. This paper will study the business direct strategy approaches by using different analytical hammers to analyze the related industry environment and the macro-environment that the Park is doing business with. Furthermore, it will in addition study the internal and external environment that would leads to some threats or opportunities for its further reading.Chapter 1 IntroductionOcean Park Hong Kong, a theme park operates by the Ocean Park Corporation that delivers entertainment business in Hong Kong. The Park was offici aloney opened in 1977 by the then Governor of Hong Kong, Sir Murray MacLehose. It was built at a speak to of HK$150 meg funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club and free land provided by the Hong Kong Government. The Park is situated on the southern side of Hong Kong Island and it is the Hong Kong primer educational and entertainment theme park that covers more than 870,000 squ ar meters of land and features a diverse selection of world-class marine attraction, thrill rides and shows divided into three major areas Lowland, Headland and Thai Shue Wan. Over the years, the Park has consistently rejuvenated and reinvented itself to better serve its guests, establishing itself as a major tourist attraction both locally and abroad. Since its opening more than 30 years ago, over 95 million guests have visited Ocean Park. Over 5 million guests visit The Ocean Park each year.Being the wiz of the largest theme park in Hong Kong, Ocean Park delivers not only thrill rides but also the educational and conservation of wildlife and habitats done various campaigns. The Ocean Park Conservation Foundation (OPCF) was found in 1993 and the Foundation wished to significantly improve the attitudes and practices towards conservation in Hong Kong and Asia through cooperative programs with other(a)wise conservation organizations. not even at all, The Hong Kong Society for Panda Conservation (HKSPC) was also launched in 1999 to educate the community and support conservation of the giant pandas and their habitat. Both the HKSPC and OPCF were merged into a single organization on 1 July 2005 as the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation Hong Kong (OPCFHK).Vision and MissionThe vision of Ocean Park is aspires to be a world leader in providing excellent guest experiences in a theme park environment con necting people with nature, whilst the Mission of the Park is to provides all guests with memorable experiences that combine entertainment and education, while inspiring lifelong learning and conservation advocacy. Our aim is to maintain a healthy financial status, while strive to deliver the highest standards of safety, sentient being care, harvest-tides and guest service. Furthermore, the Park expresses its incumbrance value by several elements Fun, Service, Safety, Education and Conservation and Respect for People. (Ocean Park, Corporation Information. uniform resource locator http//www.oceanpark.com.hk/html/en/footer/corporate-information/vision.html)The key stakeholders would be those customers that have the expectation to the Ocean Park which a theme park could provide with special features together with exciting, education and conservation. With its vision, mission and core values, the Park has differentiate itself from the other theme parks which it aims to provide elem ents of entertainment, education and conservation at an affordable price to meet with its customers expectation. In this report, the objectives are to analyszs the current position of the Ocean Park through various analytical tools and to find out its strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and finally makes recommendation to encounter the potential risks.Chapter 2 epitome2.1 Porter 5 Forces compendPorters five forces is a framework for the industry synopsis and business strategy development developed by Michael E. Porter. It is an analytical tool to analyses and determines the competitive intensity and therefore the attractiveness of the commercialize. The tool is referred to these five forces as the micro environment and the more intense study to the market opposition. Yet competition for profit goes beyond established industry rivals to involve four other competitive forces as well customers, suppliers, potential starters, and substitute products. The extended riva lry that results from all five forces defines an industrys structure and shapes the nature of competitive interaction within an industry. (Porter E., 200825)Rivalry among Existing CompetitorsAlthough Hong Kong is a small city with limited area, however, the Ocean Park had been open since 1977 and being the largest theme park in Hong Kong. Throughout the time, the Park had no major competitor for more than 20 years until the other theme park was confirmed to construct in Hong Kong, The Disneyland Hong Kong. This has created intense competition greatly decrease the market share of Ocean Park.Threat of New EntrantThe increase of parvenue theme parks in other East Asia country has created the threats posed by the entry of new competitors. This has forced the numbers of visit down and endue much more pressure to the entry numbers for both local and international visitors. Moreover, as stated on the above, the limited space of Hong Kong to set up another new theme park among Ocean Park and Disneyland will be very difficult. In such case, the force of the threat of new entrant is considered low comprising those factors.Threat of the SubstitutesThe Park provides the entertainment business in Hong Kong and to retain visitors mainly by fun and education. However, from the view of micro environment to the provision of the entertainment business, it would possibly has other substitutes service that providing the similar services, just likes the Ngong Ping 360 and The Peak Experience, etc. These new travel scenic spots provide similar services and experiences to retain those visitors. talk terms Power of BuyersThe power of buyers refers to the ability of the customers to be able to negotiate the prices from the seller. Consumers have little influence over the manufacturers and service providers in negotiating prices. The Ocean Parks is a theme park that combines with the thrill rides that providing the visitors an exciting experience while the other hand to provide with the connection of natural through conservation and varianting programs undertaken for its unmatched collection of insects, fishes, birds and marine mammals. These unique experiences could only be founded in the Ocean Park and thus the bar crystalizeing power of buyers in considered low.Bargaining Power of SuppliersThe Ocean Park named the worlds 15th-ranked theme park base on the annual attendance by the Themed Entertainment Association and Economics Research Associates, the commodious number of the visitors that enable the park a strong negotiation power with its suppliers, especially the food suppliers for the Bayview restaurant, Terrace Caf, Headland Rides, Panda Caf and the Middle Kingdom Restaurant located inside the park. Refers to the Fig. 1.2 at the appendix, the income by the catering service was increased from more than three million Hong Kong Dollars from 2008 to 2009. Although, the sales of goods had a slightly decrease, however, there were special income from the commission of franchised retails store. This would show the attraction of doing business in Ocean Park could reflect to a significant revenue to the franchised store. For instance, the suppliers or the manufacturers of those foods and souvenir are also considered has low bargaining power to the Ocean Park. These factors were comprised because of the huge numbers of the visitor attendance.2.2 PESTEL AnalysisThere are many factors that could affect the decision of the organization in the macro-environment. The PESTEL analytic thinking comprises five major elements including Political, Economic, and environmental, Social, Technological and Legal factors. These factors describe a framework of macro-environment and used to identify the changes and possible barriers in the macro-environment all around the organization. (Oxford University Press, PESTEL analysis of the macro-environment. URL http//www.oup.com/uk/orc/bin/9780199296378/01student/additional/page_12.htm )PoliticalThe huge num bers of annual attendance enable the Ocean Park named the worlds 15th-ranked theme park among those related associations. Moreover, this annual attendance is mainly domain by the political changes in Hong Kong and China. In the recent years, the Hong Kong and China Government launches the self-tour-guided program which allows the residence in the approved duty to visits Hong Kong freely, and the approved numbers of China province that put into the this program was expanded from time to time. Hence, the visitors from China were increasing over the years. Refers to the Figure 1.3 in the appendix, it shows the number of visitor arrivals by country / territory of residence (Census and Statistics Department, 2010) from 2008 to 2009. This indicated the visitors from the Mainland China were the largest numbers accounted among those countries.EconomicWith reference to the Figure 1.5 and 1.6, this indicated the financial statement of the Ocean Park in year 2008 to 2009. (Ocean Park, Annual survey, 2009) The overall operation expenditure is keeping risen up in the years, such as employees benefits, maintenance and other advertising and promotion cost is raised up to maintain the normal operation of the Park. Unfortunately, the admission income and other revenue are oppositely reducing. These unfavorable factors bring the threat to the Park in operation.SocialIn the recent years, the tourism industry in Hong Kong is major from the visitors from the Mainland China since the population growth rate is decreasing and the ageing population rate is oppositely increasing. Figure 1.4 on the appendix shows the approach of population growth rate, it is very obvious that the age group from 5 to 14 is decreasing and that would possibly leads the Park loses the attendance from this group. Moreover, the Ocean Park had launched various programs to encounter this threat to become opportunity.TechnologicalThe technological improvement enhances the Ocean Park continue to breed the rare marine mammals, panda and other insect. The living area for those rare creatures require a stable room temperature, humidity or other special requirements since they are migrated from the other environment which may different from Hong Kong. The improvement in technological development enhances the stability to let them adapt in new environment.EnvironmentalEnvironmental issues have been an important topic over the world. Motor vehicles are the main cause of high concentrations of respirable suspended particulates and nitrogen oxides at street level in Hong Kong. The Government introduced a comprehensive program in 2000 to tackle this problem with targets to reduce these two emissions from motor vehicle by 80% and 30% respectively by the end of 2005. (Environmental Protection Department, 2010) Being the environmental leader, the Park launched a Clean Air by Ocean Park project including the rootage hybrid vehicle operates in Hong Kong. After that, nominated by the HKSAR government i n 2000, Ocean Park received funding of HK$10 million by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust to replace 22 aged diesel vehicles and gasoline carts with environmental-friendly vehicles, to promote clean-air environment and support global conservation.LegalThe Ocean Park Corporation is a statutory body incorporated under the Ocean Park Corporation under the Ocean Park Ordinance (Chapter 388). The Corporations principal act is to manage and control the Ocean Park as a public recreational and educational park to the public. (Ocean Park, Code of Corporate Governance Practices, 2009) Since the Ocean Park Corporation became statutory body, its internal operation and the establishment of the management team is appointed by the Government of the HKSAR. This legal factor makes the operation of the Park bonded by the Government and loses its independence. The above analysis pointed out the opportunity, threat, strength and weaknesses of the Ocean Park in the macro-environment. The technol ogical changes, social and the environmental factors would be the most favorable factors to the Park for future development. However, there would be threats from the political and economic issues to the Park since it will depend on the governments decision and also not controllable factors.2.3 Internal Analysis Resource-based ViewThe resource-based view is a business management tool used to determine the strategic resources available to a company. The fundamental principle of the resource-based view is that the foothold for a competitive advantage of a firm lies primarily in the application of the bundle of valuable resources at the firms disposal. (Wernerfelt B, 1984172) On the other hand, strategic potentiality is also another element to determine the success of the organization. Strategic Capability is the ability to perform at the level required for success. It is underpinned by the resources and competences of the organization. (Johnson Gerry Scholes Kevin, 200823) Througho ut the analysis in both competitive forces and the macro-environment in the related industry, the capabilities of the Ocean Park have been identified in its business strategy.Core CompetenceA core competency can take various forms, including technical/subject matter know-how, a reliable process and/or close relationships with customers and suppliers. (Hamel, G. Prahalad, C.K., 1990) It may also include product development or culture, such as employee dedication. On the other hand, the core competences are those activities that underpin competitive advantage and are difficult from competitors to sham or to obtain. Several shows theatre in the Ocean Park is unique and it is difficult and impossible to obtain by its competitors, such as the shows by birds, sea lion and other marine mammals.Unique ResourcesUnique resources are resources that create competitive advantage and are difficult to imitate, they precisely underpin competitive advantage. (Johnson Gerry Scholes Kevin, 200824) The unique resources of the Ocean Park enable its competitive advantages to the competitors. The most valuable physical assets of the Ocean Park are those rare marine mammals and the panda given by the Mainland China. These national treasures are value inestimable and they elaborate their attraction to the visitors. These treasures could only be found in the Ocean Park and other theme park does not have the same resources in Hong Kong. Furthermore, the Ocean Park has been opened for more than 30 years in Hong Kong it has already built up state of grace to the local peoples. The education, conservation and natural scenic environment are the intangible resources of the Park and these resources enhance the Park to develop its brand and goodwill over the years.Chapter 3 TOWS AnalysisThe TOWS Matrix is an analytical tool to matching the environmental threats and opportunities with the companys weakness and its strengths. (Heinz Weihrich, 1982) Throughout the PESTEL and internal analys is of the Ocean Park, some areas have been identified as the threats and opportunities for the future development of the Park.As analyzed in the PESTEL analysis, the political and economic factors would be the threats to the Ocean Park in future development. Since the attendances are mostly seeming by the visitors from the Mainland China, however, this would depends on the policy changes by both Government and it would not be possibly controlled by the Ocean Park. Furthermore, the risen up of employees benefits, the maintenance and other advertising and promotion cost would also be the threats to the Park. On one hand, the reducing admission also leads to the revenue drop in the recent years. such(prenominal) huge expenditure and uncontrollable factors would be the major weakness to the operation of the Park.As stated above the unique resources and the core competences would be the strength of the Ocean Park while compare with its major competitors. Moreover, to overcome the threat s that the Park is encountering, the Corporation had launches some special program likes wedding ceremonies to tackle the low birth rate and changed the target customers to another age range. The Ocean Park Halloween Bash launches to attract more local visitors to stave off from the policy changes by the self-tour-guided visitors of the Mainland China.Chapter 4 decisiveness for Strategy RecommendationsAfter conducted several analysis of different environments to the Ocean Park, the result from those analysis comes to the end and some business strategies of the Ocean Park were identified.First of all, in coping with the five competitive forces, (Porter E. Michael, 2008) there are three potentially successful generic strategic approaches to outperforming other firms in an industry. The cost leadership, differentiation and the concentrate strategy. (Porter E Michael, 1980)In view of the Ocean Park performing, the differentiation strategy is employed. A differentiation strategy is ap propriate to adopted where the target customer fragment is not price-sensitive, the market is competitive or saturated, customers have very specific involve which are possibly under-served, and the firm has unique resources and capabilities which enable it to satisfy these needs in courses that are difficult to copy. The Ocean Park differentiates itself through the unique iconic attractions by rare animals and natural scenic environment which other theme park in Hong Kong could not be easily provided. On one hand, the brand Ocean Park had already embedded to most of the local residents and foreign visitors, the advertising and branding enhances value propositions and sustainable differentiation is concisely develop with a range of activities uniquely that impact on the customer acquire decision. Furthermore, the overall environment enhances to provide education and conservation to all the attendances. Although new competitors had already entered into the market, however, with th e aims of the Ansoffs Matrix (Ansoff. I, 1957), the Ocean Park is recommended to taking action by market penetration and product development to obtain stable and sustainable development.Market penetration occurs when a company enters/penetrates a market with current products. The best way to achieve this is by gaining competitors customers which means the part of the market share. Other ways include attracting non-users of your product or convincing current clients to use more of your product or service, with advertising or other promotions. Market penetration is the least risky way for a company to grow. The Ocean Park should differentiate itself by existing services to gain the market share from its competitors, just likes the rare animals that enable continuous penetration to the existing market. On the other hand, the product development is also another strategy that the Park could employs. A firm with a market for its current products might embark on a strategy of maturation o ther products catering to the same market. The continuous re-development project enable new thrill rides that the competitors may not delivers in short period of time and it would not be possible to making the same thrill rides as the Ocean Park. Frequently, when a firm creates or to usher in with new products, it can gain new customers for these products or services. Hence, new product development can be a crucial business development strategy for firms to stay competitive. In addition, strategic alliance of subcontracting may also be considered in the development of the Park. Strategic alliance is where two or more organizations share resources and activities to pursue a strategy. In the case of Ocean Park, the highest maintenance, advertising, promotion and growth of employees benefits would be a high risk to the Corporation to stay competitive in the market. In view of these critical issues, subcontracting alliances method can be considered to tackle this issue and to meet with t he stakeholders expectation. To be keeping a health financial status of the Corporation, some of the operational affair could be subcontracted out to lower the operation cost from direct labor generated.Last but not least, the Ocean Park has continuously makes the improvement through different strategies. Throughout this study, understood that the Park has retained its best to meet with its stakeholders expectation and cope with its mission statement, Ocean Park provides all guests with memorable experiences that combine entertainment and education, while inspiring lifelong learning and conservation advocacy. Our aim is to maintain a healthy financial status, while striving to deliver the highest standards of safety, animal care, products and guest serviceAppendixFig. 1.1 Porter 5 Forces ModelSource Harvard Business Review, 2008Fig. 1.2 Note to Financial StatementSource Ocean Park, Annual Report 2008 2009Fig. 1.3 Visitors Arrivals by Country / Territory of ResidenceSource Census a nd Statistics DepartmentURL www.censtatd.gov.hkFileManagerENContent_807transport.pdfFig. 1.4 Resident Population ApproachSource Census and Statistics DepartmentURL www.censtatd.gov.hk_showtablecust.jspFig. 1.5 Notes to the Financial StatementSource Ocean Park, Annual Report 2008 2009Fig. 1.6 Revenue StatementSource Ocean Park, Annual Report 2008 2009

Risk Management in Investment Banking and Software

Risk Management in Investment Banking and SoftwargonIntroductionWith the current scene in the business human race it is in truth ch altoge on that pointnging to explore the jeopardys complicated in the business scrimping. The topic of Risk Management interests with the varied challenges as it has become the foundation for many organisations to efficaciously manage their investments or bem manipulations. The guesss involved in any type of organisations are constantly increasing with the rise in competition across the globe. The recent character reference crunch was also an alarming sign to manage the adventure efficiently. Development of technology also has had great impact on the performance of any scientific projects. Thus the topic of risk focusing is gaining lot of scope across various sectors in diversified businesses in todays world. So being the display case, Indian economy is no exception to the above mentioned threats for the organisations to successfully achieve their goals and objectives.Conceptual UnderpinningsMy interrogation is meand on whether the Risk Management is use as a calamus for checking quality, accessing security take aim, as a measuring unit as controlling tool. To check whether theories on Risk Management, really help in understanding and analysing the risks involved in todays business scenario. Also to check the practical and technical difficulties in introducing risk heed as a control tool in all possible arrays of business and development. While risk counselling offers accountable benefits it also involves costs, the cost of implementation of Risk Measures into the organisation structure, the process and also to make it a part of the organisational planning process in order to achieve objectives at minimal risk levels. Hence it is necessary and vital to pass a world-wide Risk Management Strategy for every organisation. In order to accomplish each and every organisation needs to switch a dedicated group dependi ng on the nature of their business, organisational structure, and also possible risks to be involved.2.1) Literature ReviewThe Indian Economy has been impacted with the downturn of the recession. As the effect of recession there is tremendous amount of change in the outlook of the business world. Today Management of Risk is a critical issue for organisations to minimise the level of risk they would be witnessing while involving in the business practices. Risk is al ways associated with uncertainty, even in our everyday activities. But we over comes these risk with our knowledge and experience by taking effectives measures to protect ourselves from these find of risks. Similarly, organisations have to consider the risks and uncertainty more strategically as they leave be involving in huge business associations which efficacy have an impact on large number of organisations and individuals. At most importance should be given to in order to avoid the disturbances from these risks or set up of these risks. Determination of these risks is critical and essential to implement Risk Management in any organisation. Smith (1995) states that risk management is an essential part of any project or business and constitutes to be an indispensable part of organisational planning.2.2) Risk Management as an effective tool for organisations successDuring the early 70s risk management had very little scope and its effects on projects and business were ignored because they were not recognised as serious threats for organisations (Merna and Al-Thani, 2008). Organisations were ignorant about the risk involved in any business process or project and hence risk management had less scope to be apply. Later on with the development of witness risk management, in early 80s risk management was acknowledged as a specific topic in the project management literature (Artto, 1997 cited by Merna and Al-Thani, 2008). The awareness towards risks gave room for risk management to emerge as an eff ective tool for organisations success.Since then Risk management continues to evolve in many ways in many fields. It has emerged as a crucial aspect for business today. It has been developing steadily and haveing great importance in the business world. Today the use of risk management theorys by the corporate managers have increased to a great extent and most of the organisations will have some kind of risk control measures and risk management policies this clearly shows that risk management is undoubtedly beneficial to the organisations. (Tufano, 1998) Successful organisations All over the world would have well incorporate risk management programme, they also recognise and identify the risks and admit that risks occur and it must be addressed. (Hiles 2007)2.3) Risk and UncertaintyRisk is always associated with uncertainty. As identify by Bussey (1978), any decision which has a variety of outcomes is said to be subjected to risk and when probabilities can be linked to the outcome . In other words risk is the possibility of something undesirable happening. Many people think risk in terms of three main components bad happening, the chances of it happening and the consequences if it does happen. (Merna and Al-Thani, 2008). According to Merrett and Sykes (1983) uncertainties come into calculate when the there are more than one options for any course of action. However some authors feel that risk and uncertainty can be employ interchangeably.Risks and uncertainties are common for all organisations irrespective of the organisations structure and their area of expertise however, these risks are product or service specific. The nature of risk and the extent of damage or success and the result may change over duration but risk itself cannot change. (Gordan 1992) In other words the effect of such(prenominal) risks and uncertainties differ from manufacture to industry and from organisation to organisation. Even with in a corporate organisation we may observe vario us sources of risks in different levels of the organisation. Some of such place sources are political, financial and legal risks at the corporate level, Economic and market risk at strategic business level and risks at project level may be precise to that particular project like Technical risks of a project. (Merna and smith 1996, cited by Merna and Al-Thani, 2008)Different organisations employ different approaches for identification of these risks and uncertainties. In order to identify these risks different methods of risk management are implemented to minimise these risks. After analysing the threat to the organisations from such risks they identify Organisations are extensively implementing the concept of Risk Management into their organisational culture. Though this process is time consuming it is onetime investment. It also involves considerable amount of capital investment.Investment banking is an industry which is known to have the maximum risks involved. Banking by itself is risk oriented business. The nature of investment banking business is volatile and they have to implement a comprehensive risk management scheme as it deals in the instruments which are highly volatile in the market. These risks have to be effectively managed for the smooth running of the organisation. So is the case with the Information or parcel industry. Software industry is no exception to risks though the nature of the business is not volatile they also involve lot of risks. These risks also have to be managed and addressed efficiently, to make sure it does not hamper the organisational growth. There will be a lot of system related risks and risk of manipulation, duplicate and theft of the software, copyright and patents risks, technological risks and few others. The risks involved in these two industries are important, and have to managed to minimise their risks and maximise the opportunities for the organisations growth. My search is to know whether the risks involved in the above two industries are indifferent or similar. And also to identify whether risk management is being implemented in these industries as an effective tool. If it has been implemented what is the role of risk management in these industries.Aims and ObjectivesThe research intends to concentrate on these two industries i.e. Investment banking and software industry to find if the amount of risks involved in these two industries. The research would also look on the risk control measures taken by these industries, their perspective of looking on to the risks their risk assessment and management methods and techniques. The researcher will be tar queering two specific companies from twain the industries and identify their risk management tools in their business. Whether it has helped them outstrip these risks and to what extent they were successful in their attempts. What would be the scope for improvement for risk management in these industries? And mastermind research on these organ isations to analyse if risk management has to be made mandatory for such organisations. The companies that would consider in the research are Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) which is one of the top players in investment banking sector, and Sonata Software Limited for software industry.3.1) search TopicsImplementation of risk management as a control toolIs Risk management Organisation or industry specific?Comparative synopsis of Risk and risk management in these sectors,Impact of risk and its management on business3.2) Scope of StudyThis research will be fact-finding in nature which will be carried out on two companies Australian and New Zealand Banking Group Limited ANZ and Sonata software Ltd in a case depicted object format, the information collected will be specific to these two companies and of sample size. A minimum of four managers in risk management will be contacted and they will be a part of this research. This research would be restricted to moreov er two industries (Investment banking and Software industries) as the objective of the research is to study the risk involved in these two industries.Research StrategyResearch can be defined as a process undertaken to find out things collect data and interpret it systematically thereby increasing their knowledge. The research has to be based on logical findings and logical relationships and not just assumptions, and the methods used to collect such date should be meaningful (Saunders et al 2009). In layman terms research means searching for desired information from a reliable source and analyse that information to go down on a conclusion for a research question. For this research techniques like qualitative data collection, desk study and interviews would be conducted.4.1) Qualitative ResearchThe research would be based on qualitative method of collecting data, qualitative research is an approach to study a mixer observable fact and it is realistic interpretive and grounded in t he lived experiences of people their individual opinions and feelings. (Marshall and Rossman 2006) the data collected with this approach is non numeric data and is expressed through words. The data collected through qualitative research cannot be used directly, it has to be analysed in the beginning using it in the research. An effective qualitative research must be interactive and interpretive. It should use various methods to get the information and should be related to the context.4.2) Case studyCase study is a descriptive research which refers to meeting place of thorough information of a corporate it refers to collecting all the detailed information of a particular firm and focus on the characteristics and factors of that corporate jumper lead to its success or failure. The research intends to look at a case study of one corporate in both Investment Banking sector and software industry. The research concentrates on Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) and Son ata Software Limited and analyse the various risk involved in both the companies and how they are effectively managed.4.3) SamplingTop managers, senior risk managers and people involved in the risk management process of the above mentioned companies will be targeted for this research and interviews would be conducted as a part of sampling technique to get the desired data. In the process of research a minimum of two persons responsible and on the job(p) in risk management process of both the companies would be done. The interviews would be conducted based on the persons availability and accessibility.Data collection5.1) Primary Data mingled semi-structured interviews would be conducted to collect primary data, the interviews would be recorded. These interviews would be conducted with risk managers and employees responsible for the assessment and management of risk. Permissions and authorisations will be taken from the people interviewed and from the management before conducting the interviews. The interviews will be done personally or through internet also telephonic interviews if necessary. The questions asked in the interview will be clear and self-generated to get clear answers to questions.5.2) Secondary DataThe data which is already available and published which can be used as useful information to our research is called as secondary data these are the data which is already researched by other researchers and is easily accessible. Risk involved in business and risk management has a vast literature and evolution of risk and its management is was there from many decades and hence a lot of information is readily available in various sources, this information will also be taken in to consideration in this research and there is no need to start the research on risk management from the scratch. The secondary data will be collected from various books, journals on risk management other online data base like EBSCO, JSTOR and other trusted sources, also the compa ny websites would be used to get company specific information. This information would be extensively used in discussing the literature on the topic chosen.5.3) Data AnalysisThe data collected from the interviews will be transcribed and assessed, analysed and interpreted in order to use it in the research, pie charts and graphs would be used if necessary to understand the risks involved and the methods and techniques used to manage the risks. The data collected through secondary data sources would be thoroughly examined and only relevant and reliable date will be included in the research. Data analysis would be done in an effective way to draw proper information and to arrive at a effective conclusion.5.4) Reliability and ValidityReliability and validity is one of the important aspect of any research study, the data obtained must be valid and reliable. In this research there are a certain issues relating to reliability and validity like the information obtained may not be in detail a s the risk management procedures of an organisation is very confidential and may not be disclosed to everyone, to overcome this the researcher may promise the organisation that the information obtained will not be disclosed to any one and will only be used to this research only. The data collected through interviews will be subjective. The reliability and validity of data will also be influenced by factors like time and place, and the conclusions drawn from the research would be the interpretations made by the researcher.5.5) AccessTo start any research one important factor to be remembered by the researcher is getting access to the information infallible. As there is already a lot of literature on risk in business and risk management there will not be much hindrance in getting the secondary data however the researcher has to get access to obtain the primary data. The research concentrates on two organisations and the researcher has gained access in Sonata software limited and Austr alia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) to do case study on their organisation and to interview people responsible for identifying and managing the risks. However there is a risk involved in this as they may deny providing the required information as it may be confidential and to overcome this risk, as a back up the researcher can also try and get access to do a case study on Deutsche Bank as well.Possible chaptersIntroductionReview of the Literature Risk involved in todays business world And the steps and techniques used to manage those risksIntroduction to companies chosen for the case study and their risks and managementComparison of risk involved in both the companiesAssessment of the researchConclusionGantt chartTARGET DATETASKS TO BE ACHEIVEDMarchSubmission of ProposalAprilCollecting Data and conduct researchJuneConduct Interviews and Collect Data + Write up of Literature ReviewJulyAnalysis of Data + Submission of First DraftAugustSubmission of Dissertation

Kolb reading cycleKOLB LEARNING CYCLEAbstractIn this assignment, we discuss ab discover look intoing, Kolbs t severallying cycle and divergent learning styles. And we get stagger of knowledge how to beat a dependable learner.LearningIn that environment that we are usually not going in that location before, or not have any idea about their rule and regularities, in that point we need to learn about the basic information for our survival. That is called learning. To plant ourselves for the new challenges of life, no doubt, it is little bite hard, but we have to follow the rule and regularities about the specific needs. Learning is the first step for doing anything in life, because without learning in life we are not be able to do anything in life.KolbKolb is wholeness of the most potent investigators in the field because he gives a complete theoretical picture. According to kolb, learning is the way where we can gain lot of knowledge through different experiences. The possib le action describes a way of reservation and placing the syllabus and points in real beautiful way and tell us how the syllabus allow for be teach and how student can learn lot of knowledge. It indicates that learning is cyclical, administers four stages, nightimes related to as detection, watching, thinking and doing. An beta characteristic of the theory is that the different stages are linked with clear-cut learning styles. Wherever, they facial expression comfortable that is the first stage for them learning. In the case of student there are different tasks where student can pass one by one, and create more wiser with practice and knowledge. Teachers also have different styles of teaching to the students with different new ideas. So ein truthone have different stages of learning. Kolbs experiential learning theory is one of the master piece of educational theories in higher education, and it has is own place in the literature on geography in higher education in the UK. Ho wever, estimating from published literature and the result of this theory is not really good impacting or less well geographers in north America. This is fairly surprising wedded that Kolb is an American organisational psychologist, whose work has targeted lot of care in north America, specially in the education management and psychology literature. Kolbs cycle have had very good impact on the work of teachers and students and new learners.Kolbs learning cycleAccording to kolbs there are four elements which complete the learning cycle and they are very important, because these elements work one by one and very smoothly, they will take place each other.1- ActivistPretending, homework, analysis. What is new, i am part of anything, enigma solving, shrimpy groups give and take equal feedback, trainer should be a icon of a professional, in this case we should give the new learner to chance to learn his own way with some criteria for relevance of stuffs.2- ReflectorDiaries, logs, think ing. I like the way to think about this training thought. In this case lectures are mutation very important role to know the really personality of the person by Jude performance.3- TheoristPapers, inferences. How this thing is part of other thing. fosterage thought, case studies, theory readings and work with your own ideas will give you lot of service of process. Including talking with experts, is not encourage.4- PragmatistSame work, laboratories, notices. How can i get the real advantage of this work? Training thought, equal feedback is helpful. In this case whatever you want to do, you must have proper qualification of the relevant field and complete knowledge. Help from the perfection will be better and boost your career.Different stages in the cycleNot doubt, Kolbs learning cycle have four elements and they have individual importance. notwithstanding the briny important thing is that they also have appropriate at different stages in the cycle. In 1988 Gibbs take a full adv antage and research on Kolbs learning cycle in the field of educational practice. He gets the result that all the elements have very close relationship with each other on different stages. In setting out logical significances of Kolbs theory Gibbs indicates. It is not complete just to do, and not is it complete just to think. Nor is it enough simply to do and think. Learning from excises necessary demand the doing and the thinking.in an opening public talkStage 1 (CE)Students one by one read complete takes out from three or four books that represent factors of living in necessary. At giving them a substitute building material.Stage 2 (RO)IN groups of 5-6, students take interest in key questions, like does it look that these experiences were change made by gender. In this stage student need to look back on their reading and also try to focus for the next stage.stage 3 (AC)In that stage 30 minute lecture on the relevant government issue give them the idea what is basic need for specifi c topic and it will be solve.Stage 4 (AE)At this stage student know how to be going forward and present their own ideas. Which is revenant to the all previous stages. In the next class sessionStage 5 (CE)In this stage, students disposition their ideas and compare with other idea as well. (experience)Stage 6 (RO)In this stage, students discuss questions that help them to improve their ideas. In this stage teacher play very important role to give the student proper guideline. Which really help them a lot in future. (reflection)Stage 7 (AC)This stage is very important because in this stage teach show the students or give them their result and according to the requirement. (conceptualisation)Stage 8 (AE)In this stage, students are able to bring through their plentys in good order and according to the point. (experimentation)At this position the work or lesson move to another topic, where Kolbs theory may be used again to base learning experience. At this time students will look back a nd use the way of analysis (AE), Second time, they move (CE). Hopefully they tell the people (RO), and might give view that if they read this theory (AC), they get the result at the end differently and their experience might be automatically changed by that learning. http//www2.glos.ac.uk/GDN/discuss/kolb1.htmPersonal polish of learningIn my opinion, everyone has different learning styles. Some people are mostly visual, auditory or kinaesthetic learner. Actually, everyone learns by variety of elements or styles. But there is unceasingly one style is more predominant in each person. In that a person may can increase his learning power, with the help of his predominant style, and become a successful person in his field. Different people choose different ways of learning. But I always choose that way, which, I can fully understand before doing. It means I usually take the from the checklists and quizzes etc.And main important thing is that currently, I am student, so usually learn a lot of knowledge from books, internet, novels, newspapers, different articles and main important thing, I get lot of knowledge my teachers. If I want to choose or develop my best learning way, i will prefer quizzes or checklist. Like I will put some multiple choice questions to know the opinion of people, which help us a lot to create a learning style. For exampleQ1 I like to paperA with other people like play games and learnB In 5-6 people groups where I can listen other people viewsC OR alone in a peace full placeQ2 I recall thing best if IA make lists and write them in a page or diaryB record the knowledge and listenC write down and read them backQ3 I like to learn usingA Rimes and tones that I make upB pictures and diagramsC labs and presentationQ4 sometimes when no one is near me I willA perform out informationB do something else which give me boost to doC make a photo In my homework, which help me in my work.Q5 I recall things most when IA read themB hear themC say themQ6 I Hav e problem to recalling thing if IA cant take about in classB just read it dont discuss in classC cant take or write in notebookQ7 I recallA looksB namesC both names and facesQ8 when I study for a exam I like toA I like to draw a picture, charts in my workB read goodC make a schemeWell, I thought so I Can create that type of learning style in the future, which help us a lot to know the personality of the person. Then we can give the same task which he / she can easily solve. And become a good learn or successful person, in their fields.ConclusionIn this assignment ,we learn a lot of information about who we can become a good learn, in different ways. And become a successful in future. Plus point is that all the ways are linked with each other, in very beautiful manner. So it every useful source of become a good learner, and get lot of advantages.Referenceshttp//www2.glos.ac.uk/GDN/discuss/kolb1.htmhttp//www.sos.net/donclark/history/kolb.htmlhttp//homeworktips.about.comCottrell, s. Essay --

ME I spent nearly 15 years harboring un-forgiveness against an individual. I was 7 years old I lost my M some other .My father was left hand to raise s until now children. We didnt have much and it showed in my appearance and unkempt hair. I remembered sitting in class ane particular day the instructor asked each of us what we wanted to be when we grew up. When the time came for me to answer I stood up and said that I wanted to be a teacher and she looked at me and said you should think of something else more realistic. I had heard hurtful words repeatedly as a child only that day, I was broken by them. I recall how the entire class laughed and made fun of me and years later I believed that I was never going to amount to anything, and everything I attempted failed. It was as if those words were like a crackpot and chain on me. My Dad was a weekend alcoholic back then and he worked hard during the week but on the weekends he was never around. My childhood was a very lonely one, I didnt have any friends, only when associates, but there was this guy name Chris, he was a sweet and very nice boy. I use to talk to him from time to time but he was very reserved and was always by himself. I felt badly for him, after all, I felt that we were both misfits. We had become good friends, and even though he wasnt much of a talker, neither of us seemed to mind, we were just grateful to have the other as a friend. Then one day I learned that he had committed suicide. We hadnt been friends all that long but he was the only friend I had and I was unfeignedly hurt, angry, and I even questioned and blamed God for allowing it to happen. I couldnt understand how he would allow it and I had a hard time dealing with it. I had to get away, so when I turned 18 I decided to ... ...e command, or any Holy words provided, as they argon in the other two Sacraments. Also, a foot washing is void of evangelical grace, or pardon of sin, which is why it should not be practiced in the chu rch as Sacrament. I pray that you learned from this study of Jesuss example, and I pray that God continue to stir us up to live lives which are pleasing in His sight and from which He get all the honor and glory. It was due to this study that I was able to free myself by forgiving the teacher who spoke nothingness into my life and those who made my life a living hell growing up. Immediately when I forgave them I felt as if that ball and chain that was attached to me just broke into and fell off. I no longer receive the report of others I believe what God said astir(predicate) me. I perform feet washing according to the teaching of Jesus I just do not perform them as Sacrament.

Gatsbys Destruction :: essays research papers

Gatsbys Destruction Gatsbys destruction is caused by his inability to let go of a dream which can non be realized possessing Daisy Buchanan. He does not care so much for the person herself as the ideal she represents to him true love and happiness. In the hopes of attracting Daisy, and in the hopes of becoming happy, Gatsby amasses a vast horde of wealthiness, and throws extravagant parties frequently "At least once a fortnight a corps of caterers came down with several(prenominal) hundred feet of canvas and enough colored lights to make a Christmas tree of Gatsbys enormous garden. On buffet tables, garnished with glistening hors doeuvre, spiced baked hams move against salads of harlequin designs and pastry pigs and turkeys bewitched to a dark gold" (page 44) Such grandeur would be more than adequate to please most people, but not Gatsby. He cannot be happy until he is with the ideal woman, in the ideal relationship. Gatsbys greatest strengths as a character, and his great est weaknesses, are his ambition, tenacity and discipline. At the end of the novel, we see that Gatsby has been this way since he was a child. His father comes upon one of his "resolve sheets" that he used to make. It reads "Rise from bed..........................................600 A.M. Dumbbell exercise and wall scaling........615-630 Study electricity, etc..................................715-815 Work..........................................................830-430 Baseball and sports....................................430-500" (p.181) and so on. This, as Gatsbys father says "Just goes to show you" (page181). It shows the reader that Gatsby was always destined for a modus vivendi of wealth, but never destined to enjoy it. From childhood, Gatsby has been disciplined, ambitious, and tenacious. He was unwavering in his dedication to certain goals. Unfortunately, Gatsbys ultimate goal was unattainable. Daisy comes from a family of great wealth and "old mon ey". She is a member of an elite society of abstruse, snobbish people. Although she did not love her husband, she values the status and protection he provided for her. If she left turkey cock for Gatsby, she would lose this status and protection. Gatsby, although he is rich, is not "old rich". Because of this, he is looked down upon by members of Daisys class. Consequently, she would not leave her status for someone who she cared for. She estimation her social obligations more important than Gatsbys "true love". The arrogance of her class comes across as Tom talks to Gatsby, who is probably more rich than he is, but not of the older aristocratic class " Shes not leaving me.
